    Dr. Quan Zou is a Professor of Computer Science at Tianjin University. He received his PH.D. from Harbin Institute of Technology, P.R.China in 2009. His research is in the areas of bioinformatics, machine learning and parallel computing. Now he is putting the focus on protein classification, genome assembly, annotation and functional analysis from the next generation sequencing data with parallel computing methods. Several related works have been published by Briefings in Bioinformatics, Bioinformatics, PLOS ONE and IEEE/ACM Transactions on Computational Biology and Bioinformatics. Google scholar showed that his more than 100 papers have been cited more than 800 times. He is also a reviewer for many impacted journals and NSFC(National Natural Science Foundation of China).
